Cellular Tower Upgrades Completed Safely During Complex Utility Rebuild Project

I.B. Abel’s Wireless Services team completed a new site build and Verizon Wireless 5G-compatible tower upgrade for Verizon Wireless, as Transmission crews undertook a line rebuild for PPL Utilities crossing the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg, PA. Working together to achieve high-quality results, the safety-focused professionals of both our Wireless Services and Utility Services divisions contributed to all electrical construction aspects of this complex project.

Delivering turnkey solutions and excellence in service, safety, and quality, I.B. Abel team members optimized the project approach to maximize efficiencies and complete all upgrades on time. To eliminate the risk of service disruption during construction, the team took a proactive approach and, first, installed a new circuit structure 60 feet from the existing structure that was housing both Verizon and T-Mobile equipment. As the new tower construction work reached completion, the previous wireless services tower structure needed dismantled and decommissioned simultaneously. This project also involved installation of a new mount system, extending the cable bridge by 60 feet, and installation of 9 antennas and 2 power and fiber-integrated hybrid cables. From ground level to sky high, I.B. Abel’s electrical construction and wireless team is committed to taking a dependable approach at all heights.
